The paper label on this vintage bundle of 12 pencils shows tanks and planes within a big red, white and blue V .
On the other side of the label is the claim :
CEDAR WOOD PENCILS
THEY WRITE BETTER THEY SHARPEN BETTER AND SERVE BEST
Also printed on the label is
FAR EAST STATIONERY WORKS
and
MADE IN HONG KONG
The pencils are 18cm long, have blue leads and printed on the shaft in gold is :
FAR EAST MADE IN HONG KONG RAINBOW COLOURS.
These original bundles of 12 pencils are tied with string at both ends.
I found these in rather battered old boxes (plain) in a long deserted wholesalers warehouse.
Some of the pencils have the odd nick from the end, the labels have the odd scratch or tear and the pencils are rather dusty...even though the boxes they were found in were still tied up tightly with string !
