Extraordinary 1960s Iridescent Aurora Borealis Cockerel Hair Clip

Why ? 
Is the first question that springs to mind.
Anyway, here he is, in all his marvellous shimmeriness.
A strutting cockerel, with an abundance of iridescent feathers.
That is a hair clip.
A Statement Hair clip if ever I saw one
7.5cm wide and 3.5cm tall.
It was a salesman's sample and I  just have this one.
Perhaps the only one in existence...ever.
