So satisfying to find something so fundamentally useful yet profoundly low tech.
These 1940s bakelite/catalin Automatic Pin Ejectors are very enjoyable to use.
Press the top down and a pin pops out the centre.. politely, head up, ready for use. They work smoothly and efficiently. Something to aspire to.. They come on their original shop display cards, with graphic instructions. And they are already full of pins. They are 7cm tall and have a patent number on the base along with
D.F Tayler and Co Ltd Birmingham MADE IN ENGLAND
The elastic bands holding the pin ejector to the card have sometimes deteriorated to the point of..well, just not doing their job properly. But easily replaced if you want to keep it on the card. I have them in the colours shown.
I also have the boxes of pins that are used to refill them - lots and lots of pins - 2.4cm long - Electro Plated Mild Steel Short Whites. They are UTILITY Pins, In "WAR-TIME" packs
