Sheet no 133 CHICHESTER and WORTHING.
Issued in 1920 with "Roads" and "Minor Corrections" to 1935, this is a fascinating map of the Chichester and Worthing area of Sussex in the 1920s and 30s.
From the top left hand corner, working around the edge of the map, the places included are :
Totton, Midhurst, Petworth, Shermanbury, then Shoreham to Selsey Bill on the coast and Chichester in the West.
The map shows windmills, tramways, railways, orchards and no motorways at all.
The scale is 1 inch to 1 mile and it is on cloth reinforced paper, with a wonderful picture of a man and his bike sitting on a hill overlooking some idyllic English countryside, studying his map !
Published by Authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The map is in good condition inside and out.
Would look brilliant on a wall and would make a perfect christmas present for someone who lives in or is nostalgic for the area.
