Exceptionally Sparkly Vintage Plastic Dishes..But What Are they For ?

Exceptionally Sparkly Vintage Plastic Dishes.
I have 2 different styles - one is oval and one has a nipped in middle.
Very hard to photograph as they are moulded to catch the light and as it's a sunny day they are doing that very well !
They have detachable sparkly handles - so they can be used as baskets,
or dishes...SO versatile !
They were made in Italy.
I have no idea what they were for, but I'm sure you'll think of something !
