5 Bright Vintage Casein Crochet Hooks Gauges 8 - 12

5 early 20th century casein crochet hooks in lovely bright colours.
I found a few boxes of these in the old haberdashery warehouse I cleared.
One box of gauge 11 and a couple of boxes of mixed sizes gauge 8 to 12

They range from 12.5cm to l4.5cm long.

Casein, an early plastic made from milk protein was very popular in the early part of the 20th century -because it readily took a surface dye, so brightly coloured items could

be quickly made from the original pale material.

It was popular for buttons, buckles, pens, dressing table items, knitting pins.

And crochet hooks !

They are lovely - very flexible and warmer and much more comfortable than cold aluminium ones. 

I'm selling them in lots of the 5 different sizes, in 5 different colours, and then individually in gauges 10, 11 and 12.
