1945
Colour printed cloth backed.
Scale Half Inch to a Mile
Shows the area all around Cambridge including, clearly, the the North East the Drains of the Fens.
From the top left hand corner clockwise - Drayton, Isle of Ely, Mildenhall, Saffron Walden, Royston, Stony Stratford.
Also Northampton, Bedford, Kettering and Huntingdon.
Wonderfully detailed map showing railways and stations, hospitals, stately homes, marshes, quarries, woods, almshouses, baths, ironworks, golf courses, youth hostels and historical sites. And even Overhead Electrical High Power Lines.
Please have a look at all the photos to get an idea of the detail.
I have several copies of this map (all on cloth except one) - slightly varying dates and conditions as detailed below - you can choose which one you'd like in the list just to the right of the pictures
Map 1 - Good condition - 1 hole at a join
Map 2 -Scuffed cover, holes at joins, wear along folds
Map 3 -1947 - Wear along the the folds, scuffed cover, writing on back of map.
Map 4 -Revisions to 1961 including aerodromes (see second from last photo) and radio stations- few small holes at junctions of folds.
Map 5 -Good condition apart from slight black stain at top left hand corner, and slightly worn front cover.
Map 6 - 1940s - on Paper - lots of the paper folds have split (see last photo) -but would be ideal for mounting on card to put on the wall.
