Lovely vintage Marutomoware ceramic preserve pot, made in Japan circa 1930s–1940s. A textured tree bark design decorated with hand-painted leaves and insects, and a colourful winged insect finial on the lid.
Unusual in that it has little holes in the lid...allowing whatever is inside to ...breather ?
Never seen one like this before.
No chips or cracks just some ae crazing inside the pot.
