Wonderfully Evocative 1940s Crepe Paper Serviettes Made in England
OOHH..the lids on these boxes just make me want to snuggle up in an armchair in front of a fire listening to my big bakelite radio whilst roasting chestnuts.
And the actual crepe paper serviettes inside are equally delicious.
They are still tied up with their cellophane ribbon and gold "a Sylko PRODUCT" label. There is a choice of a Deck of Cards, Father Christmas or A Good Night Out..several sparkling cocktails and ashtrays with smoking cigarettes. The boxes with the decks of cards all have lids with bashed or torn edges - the patterns on the top are fine - see the picture of the deck of cards and box. The photos show the top serviette - all these are a bit faded, the colours are stronger on the ones underneath. Hard to count how many there are as I don't want to tear the cellophane ribbon - but I'd guess 10 or 12.
